209.75. No change from yesterday.
I actually broke the diet regimen last night for dinner. I had Mick's maple salmon. The salmon is fine; the maple has SUGAR. Sugar is a total no-no on this regimen. Well, it's back to the straight and narrow today. Tomorrow I take my daughter and her boyfriend to Sushi X for lunch, then go to Concord for my law-school class reunion over the weekend. That, too, will break the regimen (though I will, of course, be sensible). So I'll do an egg-grapefruit day on Monday to get things back on track.
Going to the gym this morning to let Darryl beat me up and put me through the baseline exercise routine for the challenge. That will wear me out for the rest of the day.... I did the weigh-in on Tuesday, and that measures all kinds of things besides weight. It seems that I'm a bit dehydrated; I don't drink enough water. Divide your weight in half and that's the number of ounces of water you should drink per day. I'll NEVER get 105 ounces of water down my gullet in a day...that's another reason to lose the weight!
Toastmasters tonight! I'm talking, giving my icebreaker speech. And I'm Grammarian. I'm more nervous about the grammarian function than I am about the speech.
Nancy Delain's journey through losing approximately 100 pounds. This blog provides accountability and contains my observations, my thoughts, my feelings on losing the weight I've lugged around for too long.

Weighing In 9/9/2018
210.5, down from yesterday's 211.
Fat is now coming off (well, water too). I'm feeling well, since the Diet Center diet provides for eating really good food; chicken 'n' fish...chicken 'n' fish...chicken 'n' fish..., lots of veggies, fresh fruit, and my ever-present bran muffin that keeps my eyes bright, my tail bushy and my bowels moving.
Also, it's FINALLY cooled down outside. This encourages long walks by the river (I'll take one today) as well as coming home to curl up by the fire with a cuppa tea. Not hot chocolate this year (😢), but I have a tea that tastes like minted hot chocolate, which will substitute well. Keeping body heat going in cool weather also takes a bit more energy ... calories ... just to maintain, which helps!
The holidays are fast approaching, too. Halloween is easy: just don't buy the candy, or buy candy with coconut that I will NEVER eat. Thanksgiving. Hmmm. Maybe I'll treat myself to my former gentleman caller's maple-marinated salmon. One day of maple won't kill me. And Tess and Kraig are coming for Christmas; perhaps rock cornish game hens, salad, broccoli (which Tess loves and Kraig hates 😈) and tofu apple dessert for Christmas dinner? I'll figure it out.
Damn ... I didn't post measurements as promised. Well, here they are, as of today, compared to the last set of measurements I took, in July 2017. As you see, I haven't changed much. They'll be up on the first of each month from now on.

Weighing In 8/30/2017
Yesterday was 212.75, today is 212.75. This is down 0.75 lb from Monday's 213.5.
It's coming off.
And I'm exercising. At the end of July, I joined a gym and I've actually been using it. I have a weekly personal training session with a guy who broke his leg so badly that it needed amputation below the knee; he kicks my butt (which needs kicking). I'm taking a Water Walking class on Mondays at 10:30 (I missed this past week, but I'll not do that on a regular basis). I've taken a few Zumba classes. I'm enjoying myself while my body develops actual muscles and my clothes fall off me. It doesn't hurt to move as much as it did, either. Life is good!!
Oh ... and my gentleman caller is pleased with the changes, too!

Weighing In 8/9/2017
After a week on lake time (but eating well ... very well, thanks to my gentleman caller), I come back at 214.0, having lost 1.5 lb since last I weighed in on 8/2!
I should go away more often!

Weigh In 8/2/2017
215.5. No change. No change for a week. Sigh.
It's actually time for an egg-grapefruit day, but that's not happening until probably next Tuesday or Wednesday since my gentleman caller is coming today and we won't part company until Monday.
It's also time for pictures and measurements. Well, those will have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday too.

Weighing In 5/13/2017
230, down from yesterday's 230.25.
Little bit by little bit...
It can be frustrating, but that's the healthy way to do this.
Another 0.25 lb and I'm ready for that break-the-tens-digit reward of a day trip to Northampton! That will happen sometime AFTER 22 May (Commencement is 21 May, and all houses at Smith close at noon on 22 May). I've calendared it for 23 May; if the weather is good, I'll do it then, but if it's raining I'll postpone.
Life is good, and is getting better. My ceiling is progressing, my kitchen cabinets will soon be painted (once the freaking heat gun gets here ... it got "delayed" in the Post Office), and my gentleman caller seems more and more interested in me (which is good, since I'm more and more interested in him).
