7/17/2020 Weighing In - With Measurements

I didn't get the chance to even get near my blog yesterday or the day before. The day before ... enh ... I weighed in yet again at 219.75. But yesterday ... yesterday the scales tipped at 218.75. As they did today. 218.75 today, too.

I started this weight loss two weeks ago today at 227.75. In two weeks, I'm down 9 pounds! That rate is not likely to continue, since ... ahem ... several of those 9 pounds I lost in the first couple of days while detoxing. But it's encouraging to see the tonnage falling off.

I like this system. Optavia is apparently associated with MediFast (the same people who designed MediFast also designed Optavia). Optavia borders on being a very low calorie diet, or VLCD ... one eats 800-1000 calories per day ... at the weight-loss stage. I did a VLCD years ago, in the late 1990s, that pulled a ton of weight off of me. But then I started law school full time at FPLC with easy access to Brian-the-Chef's scrumptious soups every day and yoyo'd right back up. So I know I can get it off. My challenge is ... has always been ... keeping it off.

But I'm not there yet. I'm still getting it off. One step at a time.

I have this new weight app on my phone that will easily track my weight daily (yay!). Then it will show me graphs and analyses and all that stuff. This weight app tells me that my ideal weight is 144.5. So okay; that's my new goal weight. 144.5, here I come. I ate my way over that weight when I was in junior high school, so this will be good.

Measurements.

Yeah. I'm a happy camper. I lost an overall 2.125 inches this week (11.75 inches overall!!), and I'm down a total of 3.95 of my weight and 4.79% of my body measurements! And I LOVE that downward drift of my BMI ....

Weighing In 9/13/2018

209.75. No change from yesterday.

I actually broke the diet regimen last night for dinner. I had Mick's maple salmon. The salmon is fine; the maple has SUGAR. Sugar is a total no-no on this regimen. Well, it's back to the straight and narrow today. Tomorrow I take my daughter and her boyfriend to Sushi X for lunch, then go to Concord for my law-school class reunion over the weekend. That, too, will break the regimen (though I will, of course, be sensible). So I'll do an egg-grapefruit day on Monday to get things back on track.

Going to the gym this morning to let Darryl beat me up and put me through the baseline exercise routine for the challenge. That will wear me out for the rest of the day.... I did the weigh-in on Tuesday, and that measures all kinds of things besides weight. It seems that I'm a bit dehydrated; I don't drink enough water. Divide your weight in half and that's the number of ounces of water you should drink per day. I'll NEVER get 105 ounces of water down my gullet in a day...that's another reason to lose the weight!

Toastmasters tonight! I'm talking, giving my icebreaker speech. And I'm Grammarian. I'm more nervous about the grammarian function than I am about the speech.

Weighing In 9/12/2018

209.75, down from Monday’s 210.5. Hey, I broke a 10s digit!! Reward time!! I’m going to my 15th FPLC reunion and will enjoy that this weekend, so this weekend is my reward. All that walking up and down the hill between the hotel and the school!!

I didn’t get on the scales yesterday here, but the fancy fat-measuring scales at my Official Weigh-in for the challenge at the gym said 212.4 after a breakfast and 20 oz H2O and a half-hour workout with my personal trainer, Darryl. That counts for there, but it’s an inconsistent number for here so I don’t count it.

I was hungry last night, having eaten all I was supposed to eat. So I had 2 extra breads, some extra H2O,  and an extra apple. That filled the bill quite nicely. And it didn’t do any damage!

Weighing in 9/10/2018

210.5, no change from yesterday.

And that's okay.

Diets do that. The weight stays on for freaking ever despite all efforts, and then comes off in a bump sometimes. That's just how it works. I know this.

If by Thursday there is no change, I'll do an egg-grapefruit day to jump-start the metabolism.

I have my 15th law school class reunion this weekend. I'm looking forward to it!! I leave on Friday (which is why Thursday will be the egg-grapefruit day if needed) for a festive weekend in Concord, NH. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn, which means I'm easy walking distance to the law school. I'll get lots of walking in going up and down that hill. I'll visit old haunts and see old friends, many of whom I haven't seen in some 15 years. Maybe Lee and Donna still live across the street from 14 Essex St!

I'll take my NutriBullet, a box of spinach, protein powder, and a bag of apples with me to Concord. Smoothies with spinach and fruit and whey protein are better than the junk they serve as "free breakfast" at the hotel. Dunno what food will be around at reunion, but I'll tread very carefully there and not blow the good trend I'm on.
